Our team is passionate about looking after trees and will go out on a limb to care for yours!
My name is Silas and I am the owner of Woodcroft. I was trained in arboriculture by the City of London at Epping forest when I was 19. After a few years working in the forest I became a self employed climber in north London working with some incredible local companies. Working in London provided me with a huge range of experience from looking after 500 year old Oaks to reducing giant London Planes over busy roads.
Then I moved back to Chester where I was born and began working for the Grosvenor estates tree team. Now I want to care for more trees around Cheshire so started Woodcroft, were my team and I are equipped to tackle any job big or small.
Ethos
We believe every tree deserves respect and a chance to thrive. So we will usually recommend work that is best for the trees health, in line with British Standard 3998, however if the tree poses a serious risk to people or property we will recommend work to reduce or remove the risk.
I am qualified to help you find the best treatment for your trees, using my knowledge on how best to prune each tree as an individual, and finding the balance between intricate reductions and the sometimes necessary removal of problematic limbs.
The environment matters! That’s why we recycle all the green waste we produce, cut and season suitable wood for firewood (which we sell) and try to use mainly electric tools where possible.

All staff qualified with relevant City & Guilds/NPTC tickets for their role.
We are insured for up to £5 million for your peace of mind.
All staff hold First-Aid Qualifications.
All safety equipment regularly inspected and updated when necessary.
